Požarevac 1899 – Belgrade 1985

1899 Born into the renowned family of Jovan Simeonović and Ružica Ugričić.

1905–1916 Attends school in Belgrade and Nice and graduates from secondary school.

1917 Enrols in medical school in Paris and completes two years of studies.

1920 Marries Aleksandar Vučo and moves to Belgrade.

1921–1922 Gives birth to two boys – Đorđe and Jovan.

1926 The young Vučo family moves to their new house, a favourite meeting place of avant–garde poets andintellectuals.

1929 –1930 Takes part in activities leading to the founding of the Surrealist group and the publication of thealmanac. With her husband and Mr. and Mrs. Ristić and A. Thirion makes a series of le cadavre exquis.

1930 With A. Vučo and D. Matić, makes the assemblage Une atmosphere du printemps et de jeunesse.

1932 With A. Vučo and R. Živanović Noe organizes an exhibition of Surrealist art in the Cvijeta Zuzorić ArtPavilion in Belgrade. With Ela Pops opens a couturier’s studio in Belgrade (Pariska Street) and later in theReunione building, following Parisian fashion trends.

1941 The studio is destroyed in the April air raids on Belgrade.

1943 Her elder son, Đorđe, is killed in Valjevo.

1945 Opens the Kultura bookstore in Belgrade (Terazije Street).

1947 Among the founders of the Jugoslovenska knjiga bookstore in Belgrade (the Albanija building, designedby architect Greta Vajs Aleksić).

1950 Collaborates in the organizing of the major exhibition Art on the Soil of Yugoslavia which was shown inParis and Rome.

1950–1965 Works for a time as deputy director of the Jugoslavija publishing house as the editor of photo–monographs on many towns.

1967 Edits and publishes Savremeni kuvar (A Modern Cookbook). Dedicatedly edited all the editions of thebooks and texts of A. Vučo.
